I love what I get to do at The Journey. For many years before I came here I dreamed about being on staff at a place like this and doing the things I get to do. But there is this weird combination of loving what I do and yet feeling pushed and challenged like I never have before. I find myself doing things I have never done before and I am not experienced at. Paul and Matt say the same things. As we keep growing and moving forward, it seems that our leadership level keeps being pushed. We keep learning. Sometimes we look around for other churches who may be of help and we can learn from. Sometimes there are some that are helpful, other times we feel like we are the ones carving the new path.
I don't want to be the kind of person that when I face something new or challenging I slow down, withdrawal, or run the other way. I want to keep pushing forward, trust God like never before, and rely on Him to guide. I love that kind of adventure.
Hebrews 10:39 says, "But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved."
